The Rev. Cynthia K. Hileman Associate to the Bishop Pr. Hileman was born and raised in Aurora, Illinois, and nurtured in the faith at Redeemer Lutheran, Aurora. She attended Wartburg College and graduated with a BA in Social Work. She received an MDiv from LSTC in 1987. Ordained in July 1987, she served as associate pastor and senior pastor at Ridge Lutheran in the Beverly neighborhood of Chicago from 1987 to1995. She has been serving as Bishop’s Associate in the Metropolitan Chicago Synod since 1995. She is the mother of three, Sigrid (Jennifer) an air traffic controller in St. Paul, Minn., Daniel (Sarah) a firefighter in Glenview, Ill., and Naomi who is working on an RN degree. She is grandmother to Miles Ellis and Karla Heaton.
