Voting
After preparing, listening and learning about nominees, it is time for the assembly to vote. The Metropolitan Chicago Synod uses a form of ecclesiastical ballot for election of a bishop (see below). This type of balloting allows space for the Spirit to guide us in our work.
Voting will take place during the June 5-6 Synod Assembly at the Q Center in St. Charles.
Voting will take place at Synod Assembly under the oversight of a representative of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA) using the election process prescribed in the Synod Constitution. The Bishop Election Committee will count ballots and report results.

Holy One, you have led us this far, and we trust your guiding. We have listened to each other and for your Spirit to discern the gifts we have and challenges we face. Together we have raised up candidates. Now, as we gather to elect a new bishop for the Metropolitan Chicago Synod, give us insight and courage to lift up the one you have chosen to lead us. Help us be of one mind and spirit as we vote, humbly focused on your loving will. Through Jesus Christ who is our hope. Amen.
