The Metro Chicago Synod is a large, complex synod, and our discernment in this process began with listening to the many diverse voices sharing their hopes and concerns for the next six years. There were several formal opportunities to share, but you can always email the Bishop Election Committee co-chairs Aneel Trivedi and Julie Boleyn as well. (, )

Holy one, you are a God who speaks to us and through us. As we begin the process of electing a new bishop for the Metropolitan Chicago Synod, calm our minds and open our hearts. We all have opinions, needs, and dreams for this church. Give us courage to speak from the heart, patience to listen carefully, and the wisdom to discern your will. Through Jesus Christ who is our hope. Amen.
