The Metropolitan Chicago Synod is establishing the Asian Ministry Network to recognize, support, and celebrate the vibrant Asian community within our congregations and campus ministries. This initiative reflects our commitment to equity, belonging, and spiritual growth for all members of our Synod family.

The Asian Ministry Network acknowledges the rich diversity and gifts that members of Asian descent bring to our faith communities. Through intentional connection and support, we seek to ensure every voice is heard, every talent is valued, and every need is met with compassion.
Our Structure
Advisory Committee
Led by Pastor Sunitha Mortha in partnership with the Bishop, General Manager, and Synod staff members, the Advisory Committee provides strategic direction and oversight for the ministry. This team establishes the vision, mission, and framework for sustainable ministry that serves our Asian community.
Core Committee
Composed of individuals nominated by the Advisory Committee, the Core Committee brings recommendations, identifies community needs, and helps implement ministry initiatives. This group serves as the bridge between leadership vision and community action.
Our Scope
The Asian Ministry Network initially focuses on:

- MCS Congregations with members of Asian descent
- Campus Ministries serving Asian students and young adults
- Building connections across 48 Asian nations represented in our community

We partner with members of the Asian network by offering:
- Prayer support and spiritual care
- Counseling services
- Community connections and networking
- Academic guidance and counseling
- Migration resources and assistance
- Medical assistance information (free and paid options)
- Short-term financial assistance and scholarship opportunities
